Curar les institucions», de Joana Masó, un recorregut per la trajectòria del metge reusenc que va revolucionar la psiquiatria. Francesc Tosquelles (Reus, 1912- Granges d’Òlt, 1994) es va exiliar a França al final de la Guerra Civil. Instal·lat a Saint-Alban fins als anys seixanta, va dur a terme una pràctica transformadora que va respondre no solament a unes necessitats terapèutiques sinó també culturals i polítiques, en un procés que implicava la institució assistencial mateixa L’obertura dels hospitals als seus entorns, la vinculació amb el paisatge, l’exploració de sistemes de gestió cooperativa amb els interns, el treball dins i fora dels centres, la producció artesanal i el teatre, el cinema i l’escriptura com a pràctiques col·lectives van ser algunes de les seves propostes al servei de la cura i de la humanització de la vida. Malgrat viure a França, Francesc Tosquelles sempre va estar vinculat amb l’Institut Pere Mata de Reus, on va liderar la reforma de la institució psiquiàtrica reusenca des de finals dels anys seixanta i fins a la seva mort. L’any 1988 el Centre de Lectura el va nomenar soci d’honor de l’entitat.
